I really enjoyed reading Jill Ireland's Life Wish. It describes her life at the time she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She describes in detail her fight against this disease using both conventional and unconventional means.
It is well written and through out the book she never stops encouraging the reader with her hopeful message that this disease can be beaten/5(8). This book is a compilation of one to two page reflections about the many situations life seems to find us in. Interesting take on many ideas.
I especially liked the comparison with viewing life as water. Water doesn't 'hold on' or 'cling to' people or things. Instead it /5(78). Life isn't about fitting 's about accepting yourself for who you are, and I think that McDaniel really portrays Lacey's realization of this throughout the book.
I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages. Especially teens with a Life wish book or terminal illness/5(20). Life Wish is the story of her inspired fight using every traditional and untraditional method, to save her own life.
